Meet Abraham O. Sculley
Abraham Sculley is a professional mental health speaker, educator, author, and storyteller on a mission to eradicate the stigma of mental health. As seen on the recent MTV Documentary film, "Each and Every Day" he skillfully creates safe spaces for honest conversations about mental health, illness, and stigma through sharing his personal battle with depression.
Abraham's mental health story started during his second semester of college. The pressures of being a first-generation college student led to his first major depressive episode which was followed by his medical withdrawal and 3-month hiatus from school.
After his brief break, he decided to return to college and complete his degree. In 2019, Abraham walked across the stage, received his B.A. in Psychology, and decided to master the art of storytelling and take his mental health story to the stage.
Abraham has impacted thousands of students across the country and continues to work with student leaders and educational professionals from some of the top colleges and universities like UCLA, Georgetown University, and the University of Florida in combatting the stigma of mental health. Taking the stories and principles from his book, Unlearn The Lies: A Guide to Reshaping The Way Think About Depression, Abraham addresses the myths about mental health in a compelling, sincere, and dynamic way (physically and virtually) to evoke conversations that students want to have, need to have, and are ready to have.
