Last year February, I was invited to speak at the 2020 National Active Minds Conference, the nation’s premier conference focused on young adults and mental health.

I was super excited about the opportunity to connect and strategize with fellow mental health advocates and stigma fighters, and also share the stage with some amazing speakers like, Zackary Levi, Frank Warren, Kevin Briggs, Kai Roberts, Greg Vogt, Pablo Campos and many others!

While at the conference, I was presented with an opportunity to participate in a documentary film about mental health and suicide. It was a no-brainer for me! "Of course!" If you know anything about me, you know that I am passionate about encouraging the conversation about mental health and I’m on a mission to eradicate the stigma of mental illness. My passion comes from my mental health struggles.

During my freshman year of college, I was diagnosed with clinical depression. I felt alone. Hopeless. Helpless.

Fast forward six years later, and I’ve established a business and built partnerships that enable me to share my mental health story with individuals around the world.

I do what I do because I battled severely with depression, suicidal ideation and it almost took my life. Whenever I speak, coach, or write, I want others to know that they’re not alone if they’re struggling, and although they may be depressed now, they don’t have to stay depressed forever.

Through Christ, therapy, and a whole lot of work I overcame depression! That’s my message of hope.

I’m so excited about the release of this documentary film Each and Every Day, which will premiere commercial-free on MTV February 16th at 9pm ET/PT

It was truly a pleasure to work with all of the brave souls who stepped up to share their mental health stories. Also, I enjoyed working with Alexandra Shiva, Peabody Award-winning documentary director, Lindsey Megrue, producer, the entire team at Gidalya Pictures, The Jed Foundation, and everyone who played a part in the creation of this film.

It’s about time that we start to have open conversations about mental health and suicide. I believe that this film will impact many lives.
